How to Apply for Accreditation

IACGS follows a structured accreditation process designed to ensure consistency, fairness, and technical rigor.

Step 1

Submit an Application

The applicant submits the accreditation application along with legal details, scope requested, management system documentation, competence records, and other required information.

Step 2

Application Review

IACGS reviews the submitted information to confirm completeness, scope clarity, and readiness for the assessment process.

Step 3

Quotation and Agreement

The applicant receives information relating to fees, assessment terms, scope handling, and accreditation conditions.

Step 4

Document Review

Relevant documents are reviewed to evaluate conformity with applicable requirements before assessment activities proceed.

Step 5

Assessment Planning

An assessment plan is developed, including office assessment, remote review where applicable, technical evaluation, and witness assessment arrangements if required.

Step 6

Assessment Execution

IACGS conducts the assessment to evaluate implementation, competence, impartiality, records, technical controls, and effectiveness of the body’s processes.

Step 7

Nonconformity and Corrective Action

Any nonconformities identified during assessment must be addressed through corrective action and supporting evidence within the prescribed timeframe.

Step 8

Technical Review and Decision

Assessment findings are reviewed, and an independent accreditation decision is made based on the available evidence.

Step 9

Grant of Accreditation

On approval, the applicant is granted accreditation for the defined scope and may use the accreditation reference in accordance with IACGS rules.

Step 10

Surveillance and Reassessment

Accredited bodies remain subject to periodic surveillance and reassessment to confirm ongoing conformity and competence.
