About IACGS

International Accreditation Council for Global Standards (IACGS) is an independent accreditation body focused on building trust in conformity assessment through impartial and technically grounded accreditation services.

We work with conformity assessment bodies that provide certification, inspection, laboratory, validation, verification, and related services. Our role is to assess these bodies against applicable requirements and confirm, within defined scopes, whether they demonstrate the competence, consistency, and impartiality expected of accredited organizations.

At IACGS, accreditation is more than an approval activity. It is a confidence-building framework. Through document review, on-site and remote assessments, witness activities where applicable, surveillance, reassessment, and controlled decision-making, we aim to support credible conformity assessment outcomes in the marketplace.

We are committed to the core principles of:

  • impartiality
  • competence
  • consistency
  • transparency
  • confidentiality
  • responsibility
  • responsiveness

Governance and Decision-Making

IACGS is committed to a governance structure that supports impartiality and technical credibility. Accreditation decisions are based on evaluation results, technical review, and defined approval controls. Activities relating to assessment, review, and decision-making are managed to avoid conflicts of interest and to maintain confidence in the accreditation process.

Verification, Transparency and Oversight

IACGS supports public confidence by maintaining accessible information on accredited bodies and their accreditation status. This includes public search facilities, status visibility, defined rules for use of accreditation marks, and channels for complaints, appeals, and feedback.

Our framework is intended to support confidence not only for accredited bodies, but also for their customers, regulators, procurement teams, and other interested parties.
